I'm going to be getting a PSP soon, but I haven't actually bought it yet. I understand that only firmware version 1.50 has been cracked. Should I try to find a used PSP with firmware 1.50 or buy a new one with the hope that somebody will crack version 2.0 soon? And how do you check the firmware version by looking at the case?

If you want to check by box, 1.5s have the number 120 or 120A under the voltage label.

My walmart still has PSP's with the A on the box under the voltage.
My last 2 Psp's I bought one had no A (blank)and the other one had an "A"

I know that the box's that have the "B"s are 1.51 or 1.52

Is this on the box or on the actual PSP itself? I looked on the box and I didn't see any voltage label or 120 text.

Look at the end of the Box Package outside
You will see a white tag.
With writing like
PSP-1001 K
120V
A

that's a 1.50

if you see no "A" it's a 1.0 or 1.50

If you see a "B" don't touch it 1.52 and above
