GBA VBA problems

ok i downloaded vba then used kxploit and when ever i start up gba emulator it just takes me right back to my psp menu why is it doing this?? can somebody help to get this working.

as i said, it has special rules

1) folders must be named vbapsp and vbapsp%
2) rom must be named rom.gba and placed in the vbapsp folder

oh, i'd recomend not bothering with vbapap tho, it really sucks
