Dreamexplorer 0.85 problem

I can't get the VMU menu to work for some reason.
I burned an SBI, the app boots fine and I can use options, textviewer etc. but when I enter the actual VMU menu the DC resets.
I burned the app alone to cd, and the problem changed: now it freezes (and I have to reset myself..)
Then I got a ready-to burn CDI complete with various themes, and the same problem appears!
Any idea what the matter is?

Did you use a original VMU with LCD display ?
If not - it really won`t work.

I did try it with original and 3rdparty Vmus, no result in either case, but quite useful to know it won't work with an unoriginal one in any case, thanks.
