Hello, finally got FF7 working on PSP. Using CFW 3.90 m33-2 on a Phat PSP with Popsloader 3.71. Had to do the PSAR Dumper thing using the official 3.71 Sony's update .pbp file etc, because without the .prx the emulation was really unstable.

Well, all games I tried are working perfectly but on FF7 sounds (you notice it in the music) sounds accelerated, kind of pitched up. Something that its really annoying since the music in FF7 is extremly important.

I have the clocks at default speeds so I don't know whats going on. The only thing that comes to my mind is that maybe the EBOOT.pbp is from a PAL version of the game. I would play it in NTSC but I want it in my native language (I can't find a Spanish NTSC FF7 anywhere, I don't even know if it got released in NTSC at all).

Thanks.

It's a problem with the PS1 to PSP conversion. You'll never get a game 100% accurate with emulation for PS1 games I believe. Just deal with it. The ability to play FF7 portable at full speed w/ cheat support far outweighs any minor sound issues you have. The whole acceleration thing just comes from the PSP's shorter loading times compared to the PS1. There, question answered, this forum doesn't fail.

That doesn't make sense since the rest of games work exactly at the same speed as original PS1.

Some will work the same, some work a little faster, some work noticebly faster. I can confirm personally that FF chronicles loads faster, as well as FF7 (although only a little bit).

I've heard Popsloader 3.80 with 3.72 prx files run FF7 at original speeds, but I get the same pitched up music.

Honestly, you're not going to like this response - but it's the best possible advice that can be given:

You're always going to have some major or minor issue or complaint with PSX to PSP execution as long as you stick with 3.90.
As much of a pain as it might sound, you really need to downgrade to 3.71m33-3. That's 3.71m33-3.. not 4 or 5.

All your stability, sound, multiple eboot dumping-emulating-kernel-popping-blahblahblah1.5-3.71-3.80-3.whatever will vanish.
3.71m33-3 is the safest bet to be sure of it all.

hope that didn't sound too sarcastic.
