At last year's GDC keynote, former Sony head Phil Harrison talked about the importance of "Game 3.0." Inspired by "Web 2.0," this new era of gaming is focused on community-driven efforts, as seen by the currently-in-development Home and LittleBigPlanet. However, Sony's other games are going to take advantage of the "Game 3.0" mantra. Joystiq (http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/20/whats-sony-up-to-community-websites-abound/)'s Chris Grant listened on to a few plans in upcoming Sony first-party games.

Killzone 2 - Killzone Liberation (PSP) already has a community, but an extensive collection of "rankings and statistics" is planned for the much-anticipated Killzone 2.
SOCOM: Confrontation - A new community site will be launched on SOCOM.com, most likely offering web-based community functionality.
MotorStorm: Pacific Rim - How MotorStorm will integrate with online functionality is unclear, but it will happen.
Resistance 2 - Insomniac is working on the most ambitious plans for online integration. MyResistance.net will add "Facebook-like features," which is something we're intrigued by. Online communities, such as Facebook and MySpace, are important staples of many web users' daily habits. We see expanding the online world of games to beyond the PS3 console will make the overall experience more immersive. Imagine: in the future, we may be making new friends through Resistance instead of Facebook.
