Japanesse Hardware Sales: May 12th - May 18th

More sales data for consoles in Japan have arrived with the situation shown below as follows:


Playstation Portable: 70,536
Nintendo Wii 41,572
Nintendo DS Lite: 34,905
Playstation 3: 7,701
Playstation 2: 7,022
Xbox 360: 1,474


For another week running, the PSP is still king despite roughly a 19,000 drop while the Wii takes a bigger sales crunch by 26,000 in second place . The DS Lite sinks to a new low down 16,300 to 34,905. Last ones up as usual are in orderthe PS3, PS2 and Xbox 360 with drops of 300 and 400, along with an increase by 176 respectively.

Excellent! Good job PSP. A lot of respect must be given to the other platforms as well, but the PSP has been my favorite lately due to its portability and my lack of time to sit at home with consoles.

Time for Nintendo to roll out a new console and handheld in Japan.
