????
Do NOT do what pspmodel1001 said until you have read the rest of this post. :)

pspmodel1001: He has firmware 1.5 already!

ram650: You have firmware 1.5 and 'old school games' (homebrew emulators for old systems), so I assume you know about copying over/running homebrew on the PSP and following instructions in readme.txt files.

You can make a pandora's battery/memory stick and do it that way, but as you are running firmware 1.5 you can also just update directly (as I did).

To install a custom firmware (lets you run new PSP games, PSX games and homebrew like 1.5), you will need the custom firmware installer files, and some official sony firmware update files.

You get the custom firmware installer files here: http://dark-alex.org/index_psp.php
You get the official sony firmware installer files here:http://www.psp-hacks.com/category/36

Steps:

Format your PSP's memory stick from the PSP menu (all the way left, down to system settings, down to 'format memory stick'. I'm assuming you have a memory stick 256MB or bigger, and not a dodgy (probably fake) one from ebay.
Download 3.52 M33 (release) (http://exophase.com/files/psp/3.52M33.zip)
Download official sony firmware 3.52 (http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1209)
Download official sony firmware 1.50 (http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/4)
Follow the instructions in the readme.en from the 3.25M33 (release) download exactly to install custom firmware 3.52 M33.
You will need to either choose to open it with notepad, or rename the file to readme.en.txt then double click it.
Confirm it has installed ok. All the way left in psp menu, down to System settings, down to system information, check the system software version.
Download Custom firmware 3.52 M33-4 update (http://exophase.com/files/psp/M33-1234.zip)
Copy the 'PSP' and 'seplugins' folders to the root of your memory stick. Root means not inside any folder, so X:\ (where x is the drive letter of the PSP), click 'yes to all' if asked to 'confirm folder replace'.
Run the 3.52-M33-4 updater from the game/memory stick section of the PSP menu.

You can now convert PSX games or download pre-converted ones (from places that cannot be discussed here).
You put PSX ISOs and homebrew in 3.X format in X:\PSP\GAME.
Homebrew apps in firmware 1.5 format need to be put in X:\PSP\GAME150 instead of X:\PSP\GAME
