Craigix (http://www.gp32x.com/board/index.php?act=ST&f=62&t=42725) one of the developers of the Pandora Console which is a new powerful handheld much like a DS in style but with mini keyboard, wifi, bluetooth, dual analogue controls and will be the most powerful handheld on the market on its release in July has today announced a developer fund which is the first of its kind for any system:

When ordering your Pandora you will be given the option to donate $20/£10 to the Pandora development fund.

This will give you access to a beta testing zone (where you can try software early) and the money donated will be used to reward Pandora software developers for their work.

Developers of course don't have to use this system, but I think it is a good way of rewarding them all. The Pandora team will throw in several thousand dollars to start it off.

Discuss...

Nice to see that Developers will get a reward for the hardwork they do and with every console sold you the buying public are supporting the very people who bring the goods to the world.

Thoughts on this

This is starting to look like it is shaping up really nicely, I think I might even have to get one when it is released, any idea's on prices and stockists?
The idea of giving Dev's some cash for their hard work is quite a good one to be honest, just depends upon how it is regulated etc,
Thanks,

Mike..

£200 or less apparently

this could be the ultimate console for emulators and homebrew eventually

its powerful enough to be used as a pc/base console too. the recent addition of bluetooth has been a killer addition

Im still not a fan of the built in keyboard a mini usb or bluetooth addon would have been better then the analogue sticks could be positioned further down.
I want to see real product images before i get too excited please take some pic's its due out in july isn't it????

The proportions on the beta-pandora look way off.
There is no way that could be small and comfortable in your hand and still be able to hit those keys on the keyboard. I really want to look into some advanced coding and get one of these.
