View Full Version : Optimum Burning Speed?

It's been quite some time since I've done this...and as you get old you tend to forget these things. Can someone give me an idea of the best burning speed? I know this is a broad question. I've seen people say "not above 8x" etc. But what seems to be the BEST speed so that games load well and keep the DC working most efficiently? Also if I'm making/have an ISO is it best to burn it with DiscJuggler or Alcohol 120%?

TIA :D

There is no optimum speed. It's recommend to burn at 8x because if so, chances are lower to run into a buffer underun (if you got a slow harddisk or are running many other applications while burning).

OK well I'm not too worried about that, my PC can handle the burning no problem. But I though the speed you write at will effect how well the DC can actually read the disc as well  I guess I'll play around a little bit and see.
