Hi, new to the forum. Just wanted to ask a quick question. Forgive me if it's a major noob one:

Are DC games mainly digital or analog? I refer to the type of stick needed to play the games.

I'd say Analog.
Really, any 3D game was analog.

DC, however, also offered many 2D fighting games that used the D-Pad.

Virtua Striker 2 was only digital :)

Just trying to decide whether it's worth porting to my arcade machine - which uses 8-way digital only.

I'm sure there must be some good games that are digital that are worth porting.

Then you probably wants to play shooters and fighting games, right? All of them are digital mainly ;)

Yeah, you're absolutely right.

I have the full MAME set, but I'm wondering if there are any DC shooter / fighter games that are not covered in MAME, either accurately or at all.

Any advice?

Well, some Sega Naomi arcade games are not emulated on MAME (because they weren't released on other arcade boards), so there are some great games:

Shooters:
Chaos Field
Trizeal
Radilgy
Under Defeat
Trigger Heart Exelica
Karous
Last Hope
Ikaruga
Psyvariar 2: The Will To Fabricate
Mars Matrix
Gigawing 1
Gigawing 2
Gunbird 2
Zero Gunner 2
Twinkle Star Sprites
Border Down

Fighting:
Street Fighter 3: Double Impact
Street Fighter 3: Third Strike
Street Fighter Alpha 3
The Last Blade 2
Fatal Fury Mark of the Wolves
Vampire Chronicles
King of Fighters ‘99 Dream Match
King of Fighters ‘99 Evolution
King of Fighters 2000
King of Fighters 2001
King of Fighters 2002
Guilty Gear X
Super Street Fighter 2X
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure
Marvel vs Capcom
Marvel vs Capcom 2
Capcom vs. SNK
Capcom vs SNK 2

Marvel vs. Capcom 2; NFL Blitz; NBA Showtime; Capcom vs. SNK 1 & 2; Ikaruga.

All of these run brilliantly on the Dreamcast and (as far as I know) not at all under MAME.

Fighting:
Street Fighter 3: Double Impact
Street Fighter 3: Third Strike
Street Fighter Alpha 3
Fatal Fury Mark of the Wolves
King of Fighters ‘99 Dream Match
King of Fighters ‘99 Evolution
King of Fighters 2000
King of Fighters 2001
King of Fighters 2002
Super Street Fighter 2X
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure
Marvel vs Capcom

These games run under MAME through Neo-Geo, CPS2, or CPS3 emulation.

Is there a definitive list? Games that use d-pad and max 6 buttons only?

What about Mortal Kombat Gold?

Personally I didn't like that game. It's a Mortal Kombat 4 port.

Ok cool.

What i'm looking for is a complete list of games on the Dreamcast that are d-pad controlled (i.e. digital). I have an arcade cab and cannot use analog.

Anyone know of a list?
