How do i get doom64 to work?

ok i got the doom1.wad and i got the doom64.wad (mybe its a pwad)

so tell me step by step what i do to get it to work, and where i need to get the wads and stuff like that, if you do so ill be very happy and ill tell you where to get the stuff for supernintento and neogeo, that is hard to get.

I've tried so many different WADs now and none work apart from the original shareware Doom 1 wad. I put them in the WAD directory but it just stops when you try to load them saying:

W_initFiles: no files found

What am I doing wrong??
