Legend of Heroes Force Upgrade?

I was really interested in this game but I want to continue running homebrew on 2.0.... I would like to know if anyone here has bought Legend of Heroes and found out that it forces you into 2.01 or 2.5 etc. Anyone?

Legend of Heroes runs off of 2.0 firmware and even comes with the upgrade. Thanks to Fanjita for letting me run emu and homebrew on 2.0.
