Those still using Eloader have to stop! As much as we like Eloader, people have to realise that its old and does not save you time. DCEmu does not support Eloader anymore.

There are alternative methods for hacking your PSP please choose one, this only applies to those still using Eloader. (You cant use Eloader on firmwares higher than 2.80 for those wondering)

1) Update to 2.80 if you aren't already on 2.80, downgrade to 1.5 then up to 4.02 M33 (Custom Firmware)

2) Obtain a Pandora Battery with the latest Despart Del Cementario Utility (from Dark-AleX.org)

You should also note that you do not require GTA to do any of this.

There is many advantages from custom firmware over Eloader:

1) Recovery Mode - Allows you to access your PSP even after a 'light' brick, you can also access the Flash Memory, Region Settings and even disable the SCE logo or stop corrupt icons!

2) Kernel Mode - Probably doesn't mean much to new homebrew sceners however this allows the PSP hardware to be used a lot more efficiently and gives developers more options (TV-OUT, more EDRam (Vram (Video Ram) and more options)

3) You can load homebrew without any loaders, which frees up a lot of ram!

4) Keep up to date! You can keep up to date, Dark_AleX releases updates to the M33 firmware when something new is added, if its minor he wont pay any attention to it. Network Update is also an portal for M33 Updates.

5) Native PSX Emulation, You can now play PSone games straight from the memory stick menu * Requires your own PSOne game and PSX2PSP

6) Installing Custom Firmware is SAFE if you know what you are doing and have read a fair bit about it.

There are many more points to cover however these are the major ones on why you should use Custom Firmware over Eloader or Firmware 1.50. The later custom firmware the better.
