uber noober in need of help!!!!

I just joined this site, and am new to psp modding. i have modded a ps2 and and about 20 xbox's, so i have some idea about modding and big no nos. I have done some reading, and from what i know, i can only run homebrew apps on a v 1.5 firmware psp. is ther a way that i could garuntee that i get a 2.0 firmware? i heard some chat about 2.5 firmware and that you can't mod it. Also, is ther anyway to destroy ur psp? do you have to have a memory stick in to play? i don't want to accidentally delete system files on my psp like i did on my xbox.

Also, how big is a UMD game, what memory stick size should i buy?

u can get 2.0 at psp-ha*ks.com and u should buy at least 512 or if u can a 1gb, currently 1.5 has all the good stuff but GTA:LCS dont work on it, there is a means of playin 80% of homebrew on 2.0 with fanjitas eboot loader, hope i helped.
