Someone is selling me his used PSP for a reasonable price. However he says his PSP is japanese with the firmware version 1.0.
I was wondering if from this there's any way to upgrade to the american firmware version 1.5.
Do you people think this might be a good buy? I don't have that much money. He's selling it to me for $220 with the game Ridge Racers.

Opinions are welcome. THanks

upgrade to 1.5 cuz now theres the 1.5>1.0 downgrader now so u could always go back to 1.0, plus 1.5 has devhook(which emulates the fw to 2.6) so u'll have the internet, plus all the homebrew and emus at full speed, u can't go wrong

you SHOULD be able to to upgrade to 1.5 by just buying a game (if your willing) that prompts you to upgrade to 1.5 in order to play. Coded Arms is one such game. but yeah, that's sounds like a kickass deal to me, cause it's cheaper than on store shelves, with 1.5 you can have all the emus and homebrew you want, plus devhook which gives you the internet browser and locationfreeplayer.
