GenCast is a source code rip of GenesisPlusDC but with less compatibility and worse music. The code has been stolen from BlackAura and Stef D, who worked for more than a year on GenesisPlusDC. In fact BlackAura worked on GenesisPlusDC since 2003.
The guy that stole the work (without crediting anyone for their work) already was well known for claiming other people's work as his own:
BlackAura's nxQuake (now nxMakaqu), Warmtoe's MAME and MESS ports (known as SGAs, WowMAME, etc.), Fragger's work on RADQuake (which was based on nxQuake), Quzar's work on homebrew game engines and menus, MetaFox' work on xRickDC (Rick Dangerous clone) and probably much more.

The only thing in GenCast that's any different to GenesisPlusDC (other than it beeing worse in sound and compatibility for no reasons at all) is the menu (!) and the annoying intro screens (that one can't skip).

Seriously, get GenesisPlusDC PVR Preview v3 instead!
