Tools to help transfer your files over fast USB, not slow WiFi.

Many readers here at ZodTTD.com tend to transfer a lot of files, some very large, to the iPhone and iPod Touch. Depending on your network and the size of the files, it can take a very long time to upload via WiFi over SSH.

I had previously recommended using Total Commander and a plugin called T-Pot for fast USB transfers. Since then a few other standalone programs for both Mac and PC have come about.

The two that come to mind are iPhoneBrowser and DiskAid. Both are absolutely free.

iPhoneBrowser is standalone Windows application that allows you to transfer files back and forth from your iPhone or iPod Touch to the PC...right over the fast USB connection. Download it here: http://code.google.com/p/iphonebrowser/downloads/list
DiskAid is my favorite tool to recommend, since it works on both Mac and PC! It works just like iPhoneBrowser, though you will have to choose the option in it's user interface to allow to browse the entire iPhone/iPod Touch disk. Get it here: http://www.digidna.net/diskaid/
Since I'm constantly going between the Mac and PC, and help others who use both Mac OS X and Windows, DiskAid was a great find. Hope this little tip comes in handy.

USB is a way of the transfer .
But now there is another way for files transfer for ipod -- a software called Tansee iPod Transfer.
