Okay, I want to upgrade my PSP's cust. FW because I haven't done so in quite a while.

I saw that "5.00 M33" was recently released, but I'm afraid to update because isn't "M33" a sort of 'different' kind of Firmware? Sorry, I know nothing about this stuff.

Will I have to upgrade to an "M33" firmware before upgrading to 5.00 M33?

Again, my firmware is currently:

3.40 OE-A

You'll have to upgrade to 3.52 m33, and then 5.00 m33, finally 5.00 m33-3.
M33 and OE are the same thing, Sony was getting on Dark_AleX about making custom firmware so temporarily he went undercover as the m33 team.
Later he revealed that he was indeed m33, but left the name as m33.

I see a "3.51 M33" but I do not see "3.52 M33"...will 3.51 work?

EDIT: Nevermind, I have acquired the 3.52 M33 files from this thread:

Will I be able to update using this guide? there's a guide for "Any OE or SE firmware" too...

Okay update. I downloaded all the files, and followed the guide down to the punctuation, but I'm having issues...

5. Afterwards you should get a new icon under GAME called "3.51 M33UPDATE"/3.52 M33UPDATE

The icon does not appear. I can see the new folder under "GAME150" and it DOES have an EBOOT in it, but the PSP does not see it.

I tried putting it in the regular "X:\PSP\GAME" folder, but it won't run.
