First of all hi to everyone at DCEmu,
I am clueless with PSPs,I have a Psp which is in bad need of firmware update.

PROBLEM 1: In the PSP folder i have 6 folders called COMMON,GAME,GAME150,GAME303 (These are all empty)
,SAVEDATA,SYSTEM (have stuff in them)
Is this normal? guessing yes because i can still play games.

PROBLEM 2: Im sure i have firmware 3.03 OE-C and i am downgraded to 1.50, and i would like to get up to date with the latest firmware, but i havent a clue how to get updates or in what order to install them, can i just jump from 3.03 OE-C to 401M33-2 ?

sorry for newbie questions, but i really dont want to brick my psp, and i have posted here in search of great wisdom, a step by step guide would be very much appreciated. Thank you all

Problem 1: is no such thing, SAVEDATA is where your save games are stored, better not mess with that one or you'll lose all your in-game progress.

GAME150 is for homebrew games, emulators programs etc, I guess you've never used one of those.

yeah is normal

Problem 2: there is no need to downgrade to 1.50 and you can't go straight to 401 the order goes like this

3.03 OE-C then 3.51M33 then 3.51M33-4 then 4.01M33 then 4.01M33-2

just follow the readme files of the updates

Thanks, for the help, being impatient i ended up looking around, for ideas and pieced together info to get to this, and seems to work fine,as far as i can tell anyway. Basically the same way you said.
3.03 OE-C
3.52m33
3.52m33.4
5.00m33
5.00m33-3

so thanks again for the help much appreciated!!

Just a note to say I'm no expert myself but we were all newbies once.
Every one had to ask the same question at some time.....i know i did.
The best piece of advice i can give is to read the instructions/guides carefully and don't rush anything, you sould be fine.
