I used my PSP tons about a year ago, and at some point upgraded to 3.03 OE-A.

I am now reselling my PSP and as a requirement I must upgrade the newest firmware, but I keep getting a (DADADADA) error.

So can someone please help me with the downgrading to 1.5 process? Or how else do I go about upgrading this to the current 5.0 or whatever firmware safely?

To update to 5.00 M33 you must have all files in the 3XXgame Folder (XX = version number)
Then...
1. Update to 3.52 M33 with Patch 4
2. Update to 5.00 M33 - 3

Best of luck!

He's wanting to 're-upgrade' to OFFICIAL firmware. If it wouldn't let you upgrade to OFW from CFW, I really don't know what to say on this....

Why not sell it with custom firmware, you'd make more money.

Anyway put the latest firmware installer in GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP

Run from the recovery menu.

Upgrade to the newest firmware. Then go to official.

It works after a certain firmware, not sure why it doesn't in the older ones.

I updated mine to OFW from 3.71 m33

The older ones disallow official firmware installs due to a bug that would corrupt the flash I believe. This is fixed in M33 4.0+, just update to one of those (5.0 preferably, it definately works on that) then to OFW.
Why on earth they want it to be OFW i have no idea, CFW is so much better.

There is also a method using the recovery menu i believe, but i have no idea how that works. Google is your friend :)
