HELP: fire emblem 3 on PSP

I can't seem to find any help on this. During the first battle scene, the screen goes all crazy and appears to lock up. im' using snes9xtly++, and i've patched tho rom with rpgguy's .98 translation. i can load and play the game fine with snes9x on my PC.

the translation readme says that problems with zsnes are reported, but none with snes9x.

Please, any help is appreciated.

snes on psp is far from perfect.
