Can anyone help?

I recently bought a Hong Kong PS3 (I live in Thailand so easy to come by...). Its working great, but over the past few days I've noticed some issues, and I have hunted around various forums but cannot find an answer.

First, in my manual it says my BluRay region is ALL (the symbol for all). No other regions. I have tested a BluRay Copy and it works fine. Can someone tell me, does this mean the region settings for the PS3 in Hong Kong is region free for BluRay? I don't want to go buying any original discs until I know for sure, as they are very expensive out here.

Second, my PSX region is NTSC-J. If my memory serves me correct, does this mean I can only play Japanese PSX titles? I really want to play FVII again, but need to have it in English. Also, can we install the homemade PSX roms for the PSP on the PS3?

Third and lastly, my PS3 reset itself a few days ago (don't know why.. but its working fine). However it now has a display output of 1080p, which is strange because my TV only support 1080i and 720p. Even stranger is that when I get my info on my TV it says 1920x1080 (normaly it will say 1920x1080i). My TV is a Samsung Series 3... I'm not complaining cos it looks great! But I can't explain it.....

Sorry for the long post, any help would be great.
