Ok I'm sure it's been hammered on a few thousand times but I can't seem to find a definitive answer. Now that the Lite Blue Tool is on the horizon for the psp3000, will it be possible to put on the existing slim CFW versions? or are there going to have to be significant changes and a 3000 specific CFW? Service mode on the device is one thing but does anyone know if the existing fw will run on it?

I'm just wondering if there are any hardware changes that have to be taken into account :D

Simple answer is no.

That Lite Blue tool is useless without cracking the new pre-IPL... which in my opinion won't happen.

So what are you left with? Well, it looks like User mode will be cracked allowing some homebrew software.. but you can forget about kernel mode and custom firmware.

...and before you ask you need kernel mode to do anything "interesting" with the PSP.

Bullshit give the mods sometime the psp-3000 might not run CFW yet but it will soon.

*sigh* here we go again...

I can't be bothered to explain this AGAIN, so I'll make it simple for you:

1. watch this:

2. read this:

Did you understand all that? good. now you'll understand the scale of the problem and why it's unlikey to crack the new 88v3 IPL loader

Of course if we could see the source code for the calculations in the IPL loader we can crack it.... but then again, if we can get Sony source code, we code sign our own code.
