PLEASE help with Multiplayer in GTA

How on earth do you get the multiplayer to work on GTA: Liberty City Stories??
Have tried everything - a lad at work next to me here has also got a PSP, and we've tried adhoc mode, then just clicking on multiplayer but nothing happens, it doesn't even pick up that theres another PSP in the area!!!
Driving us both berserk - Please help .... anyone....

Certainly is, both of them, we've even tried starting exactly the same multiplayer game - but the wifi doesn't pick up either me on his PSP or him on my PSP

Yeh, just goes on automatic.
I've just thought of a possible answer - Is it because my game was bought in America and I'm tryin to play multiplayer with someone who has a British version? I am sure i've read about this somwhere that games have to be bought from the origin to play multiplayer - anybody know if this is correct?

Yeah, that could be the problem, I couldn't play Ridge Racer with yaustar 'cos his game was Japanese and mine was British!

Cheers MGFOX for having a think, i'm gonna hire GTA from my local video store and 'naughtily' swap my US version for the UK version.....slap my wrists!!!
