I will try to be as descriptive as humanly possible.

I tried to install Ubuntu on the PS3 and forgot to allocate 10GB for the partition. So commands like "boot-game-os" and such do not work. other things that don't work are holding the power button for 10-15 seconds nor the switch located on the back because upon restart it returns to the Ubuntu install screen.

Basically my main OS is Ubuntu because I screwed up. I don't know what to do, is it possible to undo what I did and get back into my XMB? Should I call Sony? and no I do not have a warranty (yes I know, even dumber)

any ideas?

Try this.

1. Power Off the PS3 via the power switch in back and power back on w/switch.

2. Hold Power Button on the Front until you hear 3 beeps.

3. Then go through the initial setup and then run a full Format via System > Format. (will take approx 3 1/1 hours). You may need to have our AV cables ready if your using HDMI (in case HDMI isn’t detected after initial reset).

Found that online. Might be total crap.

Actually that should work
It's pretty much a System Restore mode,
What it'll do is turn on, turn off, then turn back on
It should double-beep the last time and bring you to a Menu
I hate to say, you might just have to format it to get it back.
