In case you've been disappointed by the SIXAXIS or Dual Shock 3, Datel has just released the Wildfire. Yeah, it's a generic controller, but it's wielding all the standard PS3 functions and then some

Anything can "one-up" the dual shock, its a piece of flimsy crap.

Is about $50 bucks and only features variable turbo...weak.

The DualShock is a flawed controller, sure, but it's sad that all third-party controllers seem to be total crap, and this is even more true for the PS3 than for any previous Sony console. USB dongles? AA batteries?

At least the DualShock, while unwieldy in different ways for just about all genres of games, has an acceptable (if not stellar) d-pad and pretty damned good analog sticks, out-of-the-box usability, and the ability to be kept plugged into the console with a USB cable if you prefer things that way.

The only third-party controller that seems decent (for what it's designed for) seems to be the Mad Catz Fightstick Tournament Edition, but that thing is so rare, it's currently selling for almost as much as a new PS3!
