PSP power off

Hi,
My PSP aint able to shut down. I mean as soon as i push the shut down button, it goes into sleep mode. If i press it again, it comes out of sleep mode. So am not able to shut down. Only way is taking out the battery directly. But i dont want to keep taking out battery always. Please help

hold the power switch for like 3 sec.

duh....am no noob.....:)....thats what am duin...i hold but it doesnt wait for me to hold.....As soon as it goes up, the PSP goes into sleep/....doesnt wait for me to hold...weird prob...

I have no Idea why it would happen, but here is a solution

There is an option on the CFW 5.00 M33-6's XMB menu to shutdown the psp without needing to use the power button
