As the title asks, are the dreamcasts thinkgeek are selling homebrew friendly or are they out of the batch that saw sega trying to clamp down on being able to run CD-r's right out of the box?

well it says
"NTSC USA Version (Won't play imports without a boot disc or hardware hack) "

import boot discs would not work on the final batch of dc's that were made that don't boot Mil-cds. But then that info could be wrong...

Lets assume that these use the same specs as the final batch of dreamcasts. What are our options for getting homebrew to work?

I've never heard of a verified non-MIL DC. Don't worry about it. If it is non-MIL, I'll buy it off you and send you a used DC for your trouble ;)

Not buying at this point, just doing research and noodling around. Pity thinkgeek couldn't get broadband adaptors, now that would've been epic.

Hmmm, start a petition?
