It is possible but you do need to have XBMC or some other software already installed to be able copy the disc. If I was you I would keep trying to get ftp to work, once it is working its so easy to use. The best place for all your questions is http://xbox-scene.com/ , have a look in their forums, you will find all your answers there.

How is your FTP setup?

Change your settings on the xbox to Static IP and set the IP to .. say 192.168.1.xxx and then change your PC settings to have the same first 3 sets of digits but different last digits like this 192.168.1.xxx .

This is how it should look ..

PC - 192.168.1.201
XBOX - 192.168.1.200

or something along that line. Then launch your FTP program of choice and type in the info like this:

IP: 192.168.1.200
username: xbox
password: xbox

After you have that done you should see multiple partitions:

C: - The partition with all your main dash files
D: - Your DVD drive
E: - The location of all your gamesaves and apps, emus,
F: - The partition that is for extra file storage if you upgrade your HDD
G: H: I: etc - More storage if you have a big HDD or if you have a Mem. Card
X: Y: Z: - The temp. file storage location for when you play games

If you have the retail HDD then you need to copy all your Apps, Emus, Music, etc into the E: partition under its own folder name. For example if you download dvd2xbox and want to put it on your xbox then you need to copy it to the E:\Apps\ folder so it looks like this E:\Apps\dvd2xbox

Hope that helps ... If you have any more questions then you can ask me here, PM me, or contact me at the site I mod at in my profile
