Source Spong (http://news.spong.com/article/9886/PSP+Firmware+Emu+Problem+Solved%21)

So you want to play GameGear and Master System classics on your PSP but you have upgraded your firmware. It's a common problem, with users of Sony's portable often held in flux between the path of upgrade righteousness and seedy blackmarket emulation.

Well now, the problem has been solved, with BenQ, maker of some of SPOnG's favourite PC monitors and probably some other stuff in other offices in other places, revealing the truly awesome Joybee EG10, an MP3 player preloaded with ten amazing Sega titles.

We're not entirely sure if you, our humble reader, will be as excited at the prospect of the Joybee EG10 as we are. That's probably because you're not as clever as us, as we've explained to our wives, girlfriends, boyfriends and significant others. You see, although it's going to cost about £150 and we already have 26 MP3 players, four Master Systems and and impressive five GameGears between us, that's not the point. The games alone the Joybee EG10 comes pre-loaded with are, taking into account cost of living hikes and inflation, worth about £500! Add this to the £350 in hardware and you'll find that everyone buying a Joybee EG10 actually makes £700!

Hmm this isnt actually an addon for the PSP but a seperate piece of hardware, check out the screenshot via comments

This would only be good if it could use roms.

Kinda cool idea. Would've been better with an emulator built in so you could play any game you wanted. But that would break some laws probably.

Good idea, but totally pointless. I love my Master System, but I wouldn't buy this. You can buy real master systems for £3, and they can be emulated on anything now, even mobile phones. It is a useful feature, but doesn't appeal to me.

Hehe... Nice topic header, that got me excited for a whole 10 seconds. =/

But STILL.

C'mon how can anyone say these guys have wasted their time?!

Out of all the Home to Portable consoles this one is BEAUTIFUL! There's a few nes ones but they sure don't look as cool as that.

Personally I wouldn't buy it unless it at least ran genesis games but, man, that thing is cool.

I'd rather buy a DS or GBA-SP-B instead

No, it is an exploit. It will install a program onto your psp which will allow you to use your homebrew files. You still won't be able to open them normally, however: you need to open them through the exploit (which is called "eboot loader" and is found in the "photo" section of your psp.)
On a side note, please check the forums next time. It is bad etiquette to post a question into a topic that has nothing to do with your question. (Mind you, this topic was just about some stupid game boy knockoff anyway, but that is beside my point...)

Can people not just search for themselves and figure it out. There are PLENTY of tutorials out there.

lol, i love it when some random newbie posts in a thread. Really cuts the formal discussion for a coffee break :P

This isn't PSP news... you should put it in the retro console section waggy.

Retro Gaming is much better on the PSP in my opinion. All little novelty machines like this are very limited and just don't compare.

Again, Gmini 400, 402: 20 Gig mp3 player, currently enjoying an SMS/GG and a GB emu... it costs slightly more than that mp3 player up there, but it can also play DivX movies.

This sounds more like comedy than psp news.
That description tells you sooo little about what the handheld actually is...
Where's the real information like storage capacity, dimensions, cpu speed, emulation type?

How did they figure out that the games it comes with are worth £500? Is that based on the their initial release prices and over 15 years worth of inflation? Cos that wouldn't be surprising, as they said the hardware for a game gear and a master system alone is worth £350
If they calculate it that way then there won't be many games coming on it either.

Also i like the way it costs as much as a new psp! :p

I'd rather just play them on my psp and gp2x. I'd even rather go out and buy a real game gear to play the games. I know it's not master system but it's close.

LOL...I love how they say "upgrade rightousness and seedy blackmarket emulation". That is good advertising, but not convincing enough for me.
