After reading a bit, it seems that to play Super Famicom games on a USA SNES, all I need to do is take a pair of tweezers and remove two little bolts/stubs/bits ect.

I'm wondering...which 'bits' are these? If anyone knows, could you please point it out using the picture I took:

Sorry for the blurriness.

Here's your picture again, showing you what to remove.

You can remove them easily with a lighter and screwdriver, heating the flat screwdriver end and digging in to cut the plastic (it leaves a clean finish).

Ahh...I see.

That's odd, the guides said to use a pair of tweezers...oh well.

Thanks.

I use hot metal on many plastics (for cutting it - if I don't have the correct tool), because the cut-out is nicer looking. Though tweezers should work if the guides mention them.

So, if I just remove those two bits, Super Famicom games will work fine on my USA SNES? I'm looking to get Final Fantasy 5, and maybe Super Bomberman 5.

Yeah, if you remove those two tabs any Japanese game will work fine in your U.S. Super Nintendo... Though the only games that won't work are the European PAL titles, because they have some kind of block out although Japanese games are fine.
