Firmware new to all this

Can anyone help me i hae just a psp for my son i have updated it using wireless.

I was told today that you can down games but i was also told you need hacked firmware

How do i download load games anyone help me

If he updated through wireless, he's more than likely on ofw 5.51 now.

If you have a 1k you can mod your psp for sure with a Pandoras battery and MMS.

If you have a 2k, you can hack your psp with a Pandora and MMS, Only if you have a hackable motherboard. See: http://www.pspmod.com/forums/psp-misc-guides/46245-how-determine-whether-not-your-psp-hackable.html

If you have a 3k and are currently above ofw 5.03 you cannot hack it at all.

Now if you are somehow under or at ofw 5.03 (Must be at 5.03) on a 1k or hackable to (Still see link for hackable 2k), then you can hack them with ChickHen R2, then Hellcat's Recovery Flasher V1.60 to get 5.00m33-6 cfw.

If you're on a 3k with 5.03 ofw then you can sort of hack it with ChickHen R2, then Custom Firmware enabler V3.60 or 5.03 Gen-B

jubbabubba forgot to mention that the PSP-1000 is the fat PSP and the 2000 and 3000 are slims. Best way to know what you have is to look at the long sticker on the bottom of the PSP
