I'm pretty sure there's a source code around somewhere...

plans on porting it to the dc?, I can code little (my greatest creation is a very buggy version of pong)

I would code it myself and surprise you all if I knew how to code for more than the Atari 800, which I sucked at coding. I could draw pictures with it!

Really? Where could I get it?

it's already done. Someone did it using the unreal tournament engine. really buggy though
Are you talking about the Yeti3D engine?

It would be great if it could be though. I really enjoyed it when I first played it on my mac. It had a nice sense of atmosphere and didn't overload you with loads of enemies. I suppose it was more af an FPS adventure. One game that really reminded me of it recently is Metriod Prime Hunters on DS.

There was a commercial release of Unreal Tournament, but that is quite different from what ya'll are talking about (but could be confused for it).

Unless they released the engine source code, I doubt it would be possible.

Did you read the first page, it is open source.

I would also like to see this on the Dreamcast, maybe the psp too.

Look in the engine folder. all that's there is a .lib file and some includes. No engine source. The GAME is OS, yes. The engine, however, you'd have to get Epic to compile it for you or something. Or pay them lots and lots of money. Maybe an actual written petition would help. Online petitions are worth absolutely dick.

EDIT: However, one could ask Secret Level nicely for their data file format and get epic's and Secret Level's permission to use the DC engine binaries. Then you could just distribute the engine and a program to convert between the PC format data files and DC, and have them build their own discs.

It would be better on the PSP. It already has a really nice running version of Quake.

We also have better Genesis emulation, IIRC.

The PSP emulator may have been updated, though.

My thread lives again :)

I think both is the best choice, but if it's gonna be ported, it would probably be ported to PSP because it doesn't seem like there's all that much interest in the Dreamcast anymore :(

And that portable Dreamcast is very cool, they guy says he wants $350 for them

Back on topic. As I've said. a game cannot used without an engine. With the lack of engine source and thus free engine binaries, this is as of right now an impossible task for free distrobution.
