Xbox Loading Problems Please Help!!!

I have a softmod xbox and it has worked fine up until recently as when i turn it on it comes up with a message saying 'contact customer services'
any ideas as to whats wrong with my machine and any way i can fix it?
Please help me as i really want to get it working again

i'm familiar with that error screen. :/

there is only 2 ways i've found to fix it.

1. (easiest) send it to microsoft.
2. (hard, but works), take out the xbox hard drive, get a friends xbox and put in another hard drive to see if that's the problem. if it boots up fine, then get the bad hd, and using a computer, copy the contents of the good one to the bad one. if it still boots up bad, then odds are there's a loose wire inside or something. connect anything loose (cards, wires, etc.) inside your xbox.
