UK PSP fw1.5
Official 1GB Sony PSP mem stick.

Using the Format option in the system menu:

Format it, and then move to another menu (music, video, game etc) and it reports the size as 892mb...

Format it again and it reports 956mb... better...

Format it again and it reports 892mb ?!?!

rinse, lather repeat...

WTF??? does anyone else get similar strange results?

I'm guessing my mem stick is corrupted... so I'll format it on a PC when I get hold of a USB card reader.

Is this a bug with the format tool?

Are you sure you didn't just mis-read it?

Ive had that happen a couple of times but not from formating the the MS tho. some times card readers do misread (psp) by about 25-100 mb so..... yea it happens

Format it from the pc with the PSP and a USB cable, you don't need a separate card reader.

Just right click the drive in windows n choose format.
Then either create the folder structure manually or format via the PSP menu's own 'format' option again.

Where are you taking the total space/total free space from? Windows (right click the drive/properties), or the PSP somewhere?
I'd trust the windows reading more.
