i've never noticed there was a mod-free exploit available and i have the necessary items for a few of the exploits.

here's what i have that i have seen as requirements for exploits:

-unmodded phat ps2
-8mb card
-16mb card (mem manager disc too scratched)
-gameshark (disc never recognized as ps2 format)
-shark port
-original psx disc
-computor :p
-tons of blank cd's

so here's what i have to ask of some savvy sceners

1: what's the easiest exploit to do, given the items i own (above)?

2. if i use the Independence exploit, will i be able to store / boot anything on my 8mb card that can then boot homebrew burned on a disc?

ok i bought some "fixer" from gamestop today, which removes a very thin layer of plastic from the CD to remove scratches.... i got my memory manager disc near perfection and it still gives read errors. so i decided to try more blue bottom discs and i found one that's in mint condition and even that gave an error.

i tried my dvd lense cleaner cd (disc with a small brush on the laser-side of the cd) and that made no difference. something's wrong inside the ps2 =/

does this method copy the configuration file from a cd to the mem card?

edit: ok i've now completely cleaned out my console of dust and the like.... it now calls blue discs bad format, instead of read error.... maybe the track needs lube :p
