Whenever you check your internet connection, always say NO to the update... If suddenly you forget and then realise, you can quickly hit the power, which I've done many times and my console is still doing fine.

You should have waited for a safe firmware installer, preferably by Waninkoko.

My Wii Is hacked but I want to be able to play new games. I have the New Mario Bros Wii. It will not load unless it updates the software.

Is there a way to prevent it from looking for new software?

BreWii claims it can hack 4.2 - is this true?!?!?!?

What can be done now?

Strange... I have Mario Bros. Wii and I can play directly from 3.2 with the exploits before 4.2, I'm thinking that you have downloaded Mario Bros. Wii illegally and expected it to work. Though here on DCEmu, we cannot help you load such titles if you haven't paid for them.

The product that you mentioned is a scam. Everything that it claims it can do can be done for free.

Have you installed the Homebrew Channel (http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_Channel)? If not, you can download the HackMii Installer from the link below...

http://www.bootmii.org/

This installer will allow you to install the Homebrew Channel (http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_Channel), BootMii (http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/BootMii) (as an IOS (http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/IOS) and/or Boot2 (http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/Boot2)), and DVDx (http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/DVDX).

You can try running the game through GeckoOS (http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/Gecko_OS) 1.07b, and see if it runs properly without any updates applied to the console. You can download this version from the link below...

http://wiird.l0nk.org/gos-hbc-dol.zip

If that version does not work, you can try the latest version of GeckoOS. All that it will install is the IOS required to play the game, and nothing else. You can download the latest version from the following page...

I don't think all wii's that are updated to 4.2 have that problem. I have 4.2 with Homebrew, WiiFlow and some other apps and everything works fine. I read somewhere about wii's with certain model or serial numbers. Do a search and see what you can find out. Wish I could remember where I read it. WiiHacks I think. Hope that helps a little.
