Can anyone help me on this? Wanted to see some stuff in my PSP but I would like to skip the "converting every single video/movie I'd like to watch" part :|

Is there any good Divx/mkv/etc player for the PSP?

There are 2 programs :
PSPlayerMT ( 2006, only works on fat)
PsPlayer 2.0 ( 2008 , works on both )
Thing is ..they both suck . Your video must most exceed 480 x 272 resolution to play . Most divx files have higher resolutions and you end up with your console shutting down .
Psp is perfectly capable of playing divx , but Sony are so cheap-ass that they won't release the feature untill firmware 345646 in 2020 .

Thought someone had already released a good divx player. Sucks, because converting takes so darn long...

What's the best program to convert then?

IMHO, handbrake is the best converter around. It supports the PSP, PS3 and just about anything else that can play video. It's much better than all of the little "xxx2psp" psp-specific type programs floating around the net. Once you know how to use it, can use it for nearly any device you use, too, so you've acquired a general skill. :)

I was asking the same question to myself.

IMO hardware of the PSP is capable of playing any "reasonable" divx or xvid movie.

Is it so hard for the coders to develop a homebrew application that plays these videos???
