So yeah, my photofast 5400 has been experiencing some weird problems on my psp, and I figured out it was because I updated to 5.50 GEN B, and the magicgate check got enabled again.

Ok, here is the thing, is there an easy way to disable the magicgate check so it will work like when I was on 5.00 M33?, cause the only way I know is using IR Shell, but I don't know if it works on 5.50 GEN,

Anyone knows another way around it???

Thanks in advance

Photofast 5400 just has sloooow access times. It's a small price to pay for, uh, paying small price for storage.

Does PSP even use MagicGate for anything?

I found a patch for IRShell to make it work on 5.50 I'll try it out

edit: ok I finally solved the problem, my flash0 got corrupted or something so I used pandora to get back to 5.00 M33-4, then installed 5.50GEN D and D2, and everything seems to work ok

I was experiencing some slowdowns while watching videos or loading game backups from my memory stick, but everything works nice again

on a sidenote, IRShell does work on 5.50 GEN D2 with the patch for GEN B, if you wanted to know, havent disabled the magicgate check also
