DS Doom Custom WADs

I've been playing about with Doom wads to convert other peoples wads to run on DSDoom, as they don't by default. I've found several people that have managed to do it but haven't explained exactly what they did. I think it was something to do with merging the actual game WAD (e.g. Doom 1 or 2) with the modded WAD. If anyone can explain to me how to do this I would much appreciate it.

Seems that you need to merge the WAD file (http://dsdoommods.freeforums.org/wad-merging-t24.html) to make them work with DSDoom (http://www.ds-xtra.com/DSDoom).

WinTEX (http://www.teamhellspawn.com/utils/wintex43.zip) seems to be the main program to do that with.
