Hello GPF,
It's cool to see that you ported RACE! to the DC, I'm one of the Admins at the sourceforge project page for RACE! and we were wondering if you'd like to join the project :) Well, get ahold of me at hooka (at) telusplanet (dot) net and we'll see how things go ;)

Have a great day!

what about the speed ? Does it run games with full speed?

As far as I can tell they are fullspeed, Iv only have tested a couple of roms though, so I await feedback.

thanks,

GPF, do you know how this differes from neopop? In looking at the sources they seemed identical to me except for the per-clock emulation.

from the readme
RACE! is based on Judge_'s MHE (Multiple Handheld Emulator) code. Judge_ is a guru of the NGPC devel scene.

NeoPop_uk- Author of the NeoPop NGPC emulator. Some of his code is in RACE! and some ideas have come from his emulator.

The difference is its fullspeed and has sfx+dac sound :)

Hi Troy, thanks for this great thing.
If anyone feels like reporting tests, this is the compat list i did back in the day when i was betatesting DCNeoPop: http://br.geocities.com/joaoviss2/dcneopoplist.htm.
It uses only CSS & HTML.

And Troy, can R.A.C.E be ported to DS?
I now have a DS and would like to play some SNK vs Capcom-MotM in it =P

I have got it compiled already and its running but its not displaying anything for some reason, its probably something in my SDL lib that i need to fix or change, so im not sure how fast it will run, also somehow need to address the problem of size of roms currently im trying to use pocket bobble which is about 1mb, anything larger and i run out of memory but this is probably because of my SDL lib , so possible if I rewrite it to use ds video hardware directly, will free about at least another mb, after that im not sure how to proceed yet.

Just more a thing Troy. How do you run your apps in chankast?
I use to do the old mkisofs+bin2boot combo to get a CDI dor Daemon Tools, but no luck with R.A.C.E.

it doesnt work in CHankast all the way, If i made a cdi file i could boot the menu, but it would crash when loading the rom, so i just removed the menu temporarely and hardcoded loading a couple roms for screenshots.

Asked why my Chankast in enters to ROM after on the black screen? Moreover resembled the game name too steadily not front part of a jacket...

Do the ROMs have to be all one word and can you remove the file extension? Thanks.

YZB: It doesn't run in Chankast, only on real Dreamcast.

JohnnyB: 1. No. (use BootDreams with RockRidge support). 2. I am not sure.

There's some kind of static during gameplay, like random white lines. I don't know if it's a vsync issue or what but I thought I'd bring it to your attention.

Besides that and the menu thing it's a great emulator, keep up the good work!

So, how''s this briliant thing?
Any chance of it running on DS, Troy?

If you wish, i have a fat flashed DS, a CF Supercacrd, some HTML knowledge and that old compat list for the old DCNeoPop.

Any chance of an update with a new (themable?) menu ? The emu itself runs perfectly but what keeps it down is the lack of options and the Gettoplay menu.

I think it would be nice to use the menu from NeoPop (which is using Chui's GUI iirc ?) maybe with some minor modifications like a screenshots preview?

That way it would fit nicely with Neo4All & AES4All on one disc... would make pretty cool SNK collection :)

How are the graphics displayed in this emulator? I might be mistaken, but I've read that it displays the image in the NGP's native resolution, no scaling yet? Is that true? Or is it somewhat like Gnuboy (resizeable billinear filtered display)?

Does anyone know what the newest release of RACE for the DS is? The newest one I can find is 6.16.07. I was wondering if anyone knew.

Sorry for the "years later post" but I'm interested in porting an emu (RACE!PSP) to the Android phone (Moto Droid). I decided to go with Eclipse as my IDE setup with the android SDK. Any ideas on how I should start?
