I wonder if anybody can help me.

Sometimes when I am using my psp the 4 directional keys and some other buttons stop working. To fix the problem what I have to do is push the HOLD button down and then up again, then all seems fine.

It has be downgraded to version 1.5 if that makes any difference.

Please give me some ideas.

The down grade has nothing to do with it.
Some PSPs have gained this dissability over time, even when they're brand new...It seems SONY messed up with the control design phase on the PSP. Anyone remember the square button issue, back in the launch period? It seems not only this button is affected, but others get affected as well.

The best you can do is carefully pop the PSP open and adjust the rubber sensors. But if you don't want to risk damage to your portable, you could take it to a PSPecialist in these things.

This happened to my PSP with the right directional part on the pad, but I was able to fix it myself. I even appied a mod to the inside part of the Dpad, to be able to manuever it more comfortably in fighting games like Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max.

I would advise you not to mess with this if you don't know how to, or have doubts about doing it, because you can ruin inside components of your PSP, and then you'll have more to worry about...Take it to a computer specialist, instead.

Hope this helps :)
