Hey, I got the snes9x emulator working on my PSP, but it goes REALLY slow whenever I try to play a game. I've tried FF6 and Chrono Trigger so far, and both work, but run at such a slow speed as to make them completely unplayable.

Can anyone help me out?

You need to use frameskip. Set the video options. Mess around with them till the game plays perfectly :D FF6 runs sweetly on frameskip 2 with v-sync on on my PSP.

OK, I set the frameskip to two, and turned on v-sync, and that helped a little, but it's still very slow.

I already had the clock speed at 333.

I refuse to turn off the sound. I will not play games that way.

OK, just tried it with v-sync off, and yes it is a little bit faster, but nowhere near fast enough.

I imagine you already know to boost the cpu speed to 333mhz. you can always turn down the quality, or turn off the sound to get better results too.

ryutoki

In the upper-left corner of the emulator it says - Snes9xTYL 0.4

I put the frameskip all the way up to 9, but that made it really jumpy.

OK, I can't get Snes9xTYL 0.4.2 to work at all. It just gives me a white screen when I load it up, and my PSP freezes.

Snes9xTYL 0.4.1 (the one I had before) works, but Snes9xTYL 0.4.2 doesn't.

Does this have anything to do with the fact that I'm using Firmware 2.60?

Yes it matters that you have 2.60 it just so happens that 2.6 dosent like the into added to 0.4.2 so you must get a No-intro versio there is one on the boards use search to find it.

Today I've just started playing homebrew with 2.6, and I'm a little confused on some of this stuff. How do I boost the speed to 333mhz, and how do I configure SNES TYL 0.4.2?

i hav snes9xtyl v3.2 and i tried upping the sound freq all the way to 44khz, and it actually makes the game faster. try it, it works. and if u hav 2.6 fw, i dunno. im doing all this on 1.5.

3.2 goes so much faster for me than any release from 0.4 on I don't know why but it runs games at full speed when the later ones don't
