View Full Version : Commander Keen on the DS (request)

Hi Everyone.

I was wondering if anyone has started a port of one of the best series of old, Commander Keen, for the DS.

I know this has been done on the PSP and can't see why it couldn't be achieved on the DS.

I think there is an open source code called OpenKeen or something similar, so if any developer reading this gets enticed into porting the game, than my post has done its job :)

Just play the original with Goomba Color.

Hmmm I never even knew they made a Commander Keen for the Gameboy Color.
I've checked it out here: http://www.idsoftware.com/games/consoles/keen-gbc/ and it isn't a port of any of the PC games, it's a completely different game, I think I saw the green chicken thingy from Commander Keen 6 together with the fire throwing flame being from Commander Keen 4 in the same screenshot.

Thanks for the info though, it would be interesting to play another Commander Keen game.

There's already a open source remake of games 1-3, called "CloneKeen", maybe someone can port that?

Awesome, I ported CloneKeen a couple years ago, never could get it to fit into ds ram, when it was uncompressing the graphics. Great Job.

Sorry for the necropost, just felt like I had to reply...

Episodes 2 and 3 work in CommanDSKeen (according to the site). Just copy over these episodes and it'll detect them.
