I converted my .avi files to dpg files, but the visuals are all choppy and I can't read any text if there is any.

do you use the moonshell bundled dpg converter? Thats the one i use, i find that if i reduce the bitrate to about 96kps the framerate doesnt lag as much but it doesnt solve your subtitle problems. Perhaps somebody could code an avi player for the ds, but the bitrate couldnt be too high or lagging will set in.

i heard of one that converts any video file and adds the subtitle to it, i forgot what it was called. i couldnt get it to work though, i couldnt create a fake .avi file, what it did though was convert to the .dpg file but it had better video quality, or so i read.

Here are the setting i use, just about flawless playback

BatchDPG v1.0

Video-------

FPS:20
Width: 256
Heigth: 192
Bitrate: 128 (can go higher, ive used 135)
Profile: High

Audio------
Bitrate 128
Samplerate 32000

These setting works great for me, i can read subtitles too btw, try them out and see how they do

~Edit~

You can also raise the Video Bitrate to 256 if you want to lower the FPS to 15

ha i was using same settings but using 300 bit rate no wonder my video was choppy. Guess the DS can't handle it.

I'm gonna try with 200 bit rate and convert that new film Waiting tonight. (New in the UK i know it's been out ages in the US)

my AVI files show up with a greenish-tint when I convert them. It is very bizzare.

it seems to be wokring, found an earlier ver og avisynth and reinstalled batchDPG. but last time it work, the outcame was a /.avs file. Now what the f**k do i do with that. As far as i know Moonshell can only read *.dpg video files...
