Firmware 2.71 has that new game demo downloading system. It reads files with the XPD extension and directs a download based on the info in the XPD file. Here are the contents of the LocoRoco XPD:

[Info]
EID=gdp#
Desc=LocoRoco Downloadable Demo
Size=7998
Code=UCUS98662

[File]
C=http://psp.us.playstation.com/content/movies/14895/files/1/pbp/EBOOT.PBP

As you know, my ICP Phlash Portal contains a Network Portal Update feature. The updating process would go much faster if I could use the game download feature to my advantage. But it seems to only want to work from the PSP homepage. Any suggestions?

Like the wipeout hack, I guess it could be done by redirecting through the local network and sending anything that's trying to access *.playstation.com to a page/file on the local server.

But it sounds like you figured it out. ^_^

Yeah, my problem was that it was trying to display the file instead of downloading it, but I got it fixed.

This isnt going to get anywhere. You can check my thread about it at forums.qj.net in the speculation to see everything I tried and the results.
