Hi All,

Here is a new version of PSPAtari the emulator of Atari 800, 800XL, 130XE and 5200 series.

*** First i would like to thank you Cyphre for his help on the sound issue ! ***

What's new in version 1.0.3 :

- Improve the sound, it's now much more better
- The percent of battery left is now displayed in the emulator window
- Add a watchdog to automatically return to the emulator menu when the battery is very low (< 5%)
- Enter directly in the emulator menu on startup (instead of the ATARI screen)
- Bug fix in smooth image algorithm (resulting in wrong color display)
- Add keyboard change skin option (you can add your own virtual keyboard images in the graphics directory).
- Modify the file requester to memorize separately the last locations/directory of rom image and keyboard

How to use it ? Everything is in the README.txt file.

Sources are included, and this package is under the GNU public license,
read COPYING.txt file for more information about it.

Enjoy, :)

Zx.

PS For those who wonder how to use 5200 Roms :

You have to load them using the original atari800 emulator menu (the yellow "Atari800 menu" option in the emulator window :)).

Then select "Cartridge management" then "Insert cartridge" and specify your disk image file,
then choose the cartridge type 5200, and go back to the emulator using LTrigger.

well, what can I say?

thnx buddy :)

ZX, can I ask you a tech question?

what's accesible in FW1.5 in kernel mode that's not in 2.5?

is it just memory? chips? what?

everybody says there can be an improvement in speed, because you have kernel access, but ...what's not available in 2.5?

also, in terms of POWER, is there any difference between 1.5 and 1.0?

I'm asking you, because I'm pretty sure you know "a bit" about this... :)

I'm not a specialist of kernel mode vs user mode (you'd better ask to good coders such as YoyoFR), but i can say that in kernel mode you can read/write data directly with the hardware : so instead of asking the kernel to do the task you want, you can directly do it by yourself :D.

Funny they asked you a kernel ?? and you said better ask a good coder. I don't think right at this moment that there are better coders then you ZX & NJ so pat your self on the back because your that dame good. Mi hero ZX Great emu bi the way. Hey you think you will ever fool around with the sega master emulator it can use some improvement.

ZX-81...

Have you considered opening a fan club for yourself yet haha I think a good 1,000,000 people will join within a couple of minutes.

ZX-81,

do you want bug reports here?

For instance, if you have a game that uses overscan and draws outside of this (Ballblazer would be a good example), remnants remain on the right hand side of the screen even if you load a new ROM and "reset" the Atari.

I'm trying to swap disks (some games need disk B inserted) but haven't been able to do this, using the "original" menu, the Load ROM and then go back to Atari somehow resets it as it tries to boot the disk.

Sound is definitely greatly improved but still isn't 100%. Not really a problem, but it would help with certain games like International Karate and Jet Set Willy. It seems to happen mostly with loud and bass sounds.

Thanks for making such a great emulator, I got my XL in 1984 and have many happy memories of it.

Nice sound improvement. I find it interesting, though, that the same artifacts that exist are the ones that plague the Atari800xl emu for the Xbox.

Hope you can eventually figure it all out! :)
