homebrew games on psp slim

is it possible for me to play homebrew games on my psp slim? i have custom firmware 4.01 m33-2. i mostly want to play triple triad psp, but it doesn't want to work. i keep getting the game could not be started(8002014c). i have searched around and have found some people saying that playing homebrew games on the slim isnt possible, because the slim doesn't have the 1.5 kernel. is this true? your help would be much appreciated.

Some homebrew will not work on slims because it, in fact, does not have the 1.5 kernel. If you want to use that homebrew app, you might have to get a phat 1000 model
