I know there is an openmugen port to PSP, but OpenMugen is very limited still.

If BOR can be ported and run smoothly, then theoretically shouldn't MUGEN?

I know I know, Source code right?

Well surely someone knows how to "de-compile" a program. It's not commercial so the legal ramifications aren't an issue.

I mean imagine a 2d fighting game on the psp. It's easy enough to do. Now imagine one where you can make and import all of your own characters/stages/music/effects/titlescreens/endings/stories etc...

I mean look at this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=byPneFm2BTQ&search=homer

Is anyone out there willing to take on this challenge? I am gonna attempt to do what I can, but I make no pormises or insinuations as I do not know squat about programming.

I really think this is possible.

If anyone has any suggestions or ideas....

Mugen has no public source. OpenMugen does and this was ported to the PSP but OpenMugen is NOT complete, it is still in the beginning stages.

Mugen and Open Mugen are TWO seperate projects http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M.U.G.E.N

As far as decompiling Mugen is concerned, I have no clue on the legal issues as it would depend on the the TOS, Copyright and license agreement but all the decompiled code you would get will be in x386 assembly and the PSP is a MIPs processor. Translating a program as large as Mugen from x386 assembly to anything the PSP can use is an [near] impossible task.

that video looks fun as hell.

i'm sure if mugen can't be ported, then the bor engine could be used to make a solid fighting game instead.
