has anyone seen this ??

i was surfing toys r us hong kong and i saw this.

http://www.toysrus.com.hk/toysrusHK/SearchResult?category=Tween_Zone-game&action=quickCheck&lang=en&index=QuickCheck_TweenZone_02

when i checked it out it is made by naki world

http://www.alibaba.com/catalog/11406400/Memory_Master_For_PSP.html

i says its uses CF/microdrive/minihdd.

so i checked out mini hdd( i suppose this means the 1.8 inch drives)

these look to be quite cheap ( example here).

http://www.span.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=23_504_1801

so the adapter is 399 hkd = 28 uk pounds

a 30 gig 1.8 inch hdd = approx 70 pounds.

for around 100 quid you could have 30 gig of storage directly to your psp memory card slot
same as the datel 4 gig hdd.

my question is ??

is this a viable option at the moment ???

so the psp have a memory cap or something at 4gig??

if so could this cap be broken in the future.??

what are your thoughts???

cheers

pspcross.

i know you can get a 4gig memory card for apporx 80 quid but i want alot more storage and this may be a decent solution.

The PSP has a cap at 4 gigs. That's it. Right now, that product is pointless.

In the future maybe the cap will be raised, but that would require firmware updates which could destroy whatever reason you may want more memory.

I don't know how the quality would be anyways. I sure as hell wouldn't try this. How much better then Datel's HDD could it be?

Custom firmwares might be able to make use of a higher capacity drives. But who knows, it may also be a hardware thing.
